Hisle: Brand Identity

Hisle is a fictional line of hemp-based apparel and outdoor accessories. Sustainable and durable, Hisle designs travel companions that are built to last.

Brand Development
Creating a strong product brand goes beyond visual materials. As a marketer, I know that a strong company purpose and promise is what defines a brand and makes it successful.

I put a lot of emphasis in fleshing out Hisle's story and refining the visual materials to reflect the company's brand purpose and promises. In the end, a brand's best customer buys product based on the emotions and aspirations that the brand projects.

Logo Design
When coming up with a logo, I knew I wanted to incorporate a nature element. I illustrated a single hemp branch to represent simplicity and the natural material that Hisle products are made from. I then enclosed the branch with a circle to represent Hisle's cradle-to-cradle product lifecycle.

The circle on the left (below) gives the brand a more established and natural look. The circle on the right is a simplified logo mark for digital materials and small sizes.

Creating a Common Style
I created a mood board for Hisle based on photographs that showcased unfiltered adventure with rich, natural colours.

Hisle's colour palette was inspired by lush colours found in nature.

The brand's typography and iconography keeps things clean yet rounded and friendly.
