A Little Bit About Me

My name is Stefanie and I'm a digital product designer from Toronto, Canada. I love taking things apart and finding better ways to do things through design.

I started my career as a marketer of consumer hardware in Kitchener-Waterloo's thriving startup community. After a few years, I decided to make the leap into design as I enjoyed coming up with solutions to problems and building products more than I liked selling what has already been built.

When I’m not designing, you can find me doodling pictures of Pokemon, consuming copious amounts of sparkling water, longboarding around the city to explore new areas, and climbing rocks. Lots and lots of rocks.
Stef's Philosophies

Guiding principles for my life and for my work.

01

Always Learning

The more you know, the further you go

I'm a huge believer that education and knowledge changes lives and opens up a world of opportunities. So I'm constantly teaching myself new skills and learning new things. Plus, knowledge is fun!

02

Mix Logic and Emotion

Yes, they can work hand-in-hand

Sometimes you need hard evidence to back up your claims, and sometimes your intuition just knows that something will work. Design decisions are best made when you supplement data with feeling, and vice versa.

03

Design for Business

This is my business degree speaking

User-centered design doesn't mean much if there's no business case backing it up. I like to have a full understanding of the business factors that drive a project so that I can make decisions with all users and stakeholders in mind.

04

Explore More

You never know what you'll find

I love exploring. Whether it's roaming hidden nooks in the city, wandering through forest trails, or spiralling down a random subreddit. There's a thrill in the unknown, and great satisfaction in the discovery of new things.
